Equal masses of H2,0, and methane have been
taken in a container of volume V at temeprature
27°C in identical conditions. The ratio of the
volumes of gases H2 : 02: methane would be :
(1) 8: 16:1
(2) 16 : 8:1
(3) 16 : 1:2
(4) 8: 1:2

let mass of each gas be w.

so no.of moles of h2 is : w/2.

no of moles of O2 : w/32.

no of moles of metane (ch4) : w/16.

So volume of H2 = w/2 * 22.4L

volume of O2 : = w/32 * 22.4L

volume of ch4 = w/16 * 22.4L

therefore the ratio will be 1/2 : 1/32 : 1/16 = 16: 1 : 2....

Answer:

(3)

Explanation:

Let the weight be X g.

Ratio of mole would be the same as ratio of volume for each one of them.

so mole ratio...

X/2 : X/32 : X/16

Now, multiply whole equation by 32 to simplify.

16:1:2

Hope this helps you....

Good question btw
