by applying grahms law of volumes it can be concluded that they will escape in 2.1:3.
By Graham's law of diffusion, t2/t1 = (M2/M1)^1/2 t2/t1 = (32/2)^1/2 t2/t1 = (16/1)^1/2 t2/t1 = 4 t2 = 4t1 Therefore, 1 molecule of oxygen takes same time to escape as that of 4 molecules of Hydrogen Hence time taken by X molecules of oxygen to escape in the same time required by 1/2 of Hydrogen to escape = (1/2) x ( 1/4) = 1/8
