• HCL+NaCL- NaCL +H2O, here delta H = -X

• H2SO4 +2NaOH- Na2SO4 +2H2O ,here delta H = -Y

• H+OH - H2O , here delta H= -Y/2

• delta H =delta H

* hence x= 1/2y
