Explanation:

molecular weight of S02 = 64

molecular weight of S03 = 80

let m be the equal mass of SO2 and SO3

MOLES OF SO2 PRESENT  = m/ 64 =    0.015625 m

MOLES OF SO3 PRESENT  = m/ 80  =     0.0125 m

total moles = moles of SO2 +moles of SO3 =  0.028125 m

mole fraction = mole of that component  / total moles

mole fraction of SO2= 0.015625 m  / 0.028125 m

                                     = 0.555
