The equation of the line passing through (1, 1) and parallel to the line 15x + 8y + 1947 = 0 is 15x + 8y - 23 = 0

  • Given,

          Equation of the line passing through (x_{1}, y_{1}) and parallel to

ax + by + c = 0 is

                   a(x-x_{1}) + b(y-y_{1}) = 0----------------(1)

  • Here,

                   a = 15, b = 8,  (x_{1}, y_{1})=(1,1)

  • Substituting above values in (1), we get

                     15(x - 1) + 8(y - 1) = 0

                     15x - 15 + 8y - 8 = 0

                     15x + 8y - 23 = 0
