The simple equation is a= change in velocity/time taken.

U can use any 3 equations of motion in a straight line:

v= u+at

s=ut+½at^2

v^2=u^2 +2as

Otherwise if u r calculating motion under gravity u ca either use 10m/s^2 or 9.8^2
