"equilibrium in mechanics means the net external force and torque on a system are zero" please tell me the meaning of torque in this statement and also explain this statement in a easiest way.

just like force..which causes acceleration in body...like torque cause rotation in body.....
generally torque is defìned as the " moment of force about a point is called torque.."
if u compare torque with force u will find it easy..like that
just like force cause acceleration in body..torque cause angular acceleration ..force cause body to move in translation motion..but torqe lends to body rotates...etc
