Molecular mass = 12 + (3 × 16) = 60 g
No. of electronic charge = 2
Equivalent mass = 60 g / 2 = 30 g
Equivalent mass of metal carbonate = Equivalent mass of metal + Equivalent mass of carbonate ion
= 12 g + 30 g
= 42 g
∴ Equivalent mass of metal carbonate is 42 g
