Answer:

The equivalent mass of oxygen is 8 .

The equivalent mass of metal is 16.

If it is a alkaline earth metal, then its molecular mass will be twice its equivalent mass.

It will be 32.

The molecular mass of metal oxide will be 32+16=48

The equivalent mass of metal oxide will be

2

48

=24. It is 1.5 times that of metal.
