Mrs.Pumphery called Dr.Herriot because her dog Tricki was unwell and she didn't have any idea how the dog will get well . Tricki is a small dog which is overfeeded by his rich mistress due to which he was fallen ill seriously. He was not doing exercises and always wants to sit at one place due to which he was looking like a bloated sausage. After seeing his worst situation Dr.Herriot convinced Mrs. Pumphery to hospitalized Tricki for a surgery .
