Eraser is solid but still we can change its shape how?

It is a compressible solid, Just like plasticine.

While using an eraser to erase something, you are applying a force on the eraser. As one of the consequences of a force is that a force can change the shape of the object it is being applied on. Thus, when you apply a push force n the eraser to erase pencil markings, it changes the shape of the eraser, which is compressing it.
