3 \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{7}{2 }

 =  \frac{2}{3}
she have left
 \frac{7}{2 }  -  \frac{2}{3}
 = lcm of 2 and3 = 6
 \frac{21}{6}  -  \frac{4}{6}  =  \frac{17}{6}

Step-by-step explanation:

Erica bought 3 1/2 yards of fabric. If she uses 2/3 of the fabric to make a curtain, how much will she have left?

So, Erica bought 312 yards of fabric. To make this easier to work with, we convert it to an improper fraction. Now we know Erica has 72 yards of fabric.

Next, she uses 23 of it. This means that 13(=1−23) of the fabric is remaining.

To get 13 of 72 , we just multiply them:

(13)(72)=76

So now we know Erica has 76 yards of fabric remaining. This is equivalent to 116 yards, or 1 yard and 6 inches..

Hope its help..
