Answer:

His new time is twice as compared to the old time.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the speed of Stallion for his first trip be “S” km/hr

Then the speed of Stallion for his later trip will be “3*S” km/hr

For trip 1:

Distance travelled = 50 km

Let the time taken be “t1” hr

∴ Speed = Distance / time

S = 50/t1 …. (i)

For trip 2:

Distance travelled = 300 km

Let the time taken for this case be “t2” hr.

3*S = 300/t2

Substituting the value of S from (i)

⇒ 3 * [50/t1] = 300/t2

⇒ 150/t1 = 300/t2

t2 = 2 * t1

Answer:

The new time of Ernesto, the unicorn was twice as much compared to the old time.

Option (D) Twice as much is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the velocity of the unicorn be v km/h and time is t hours

Using the formula

 .......... (1)

If the new time is t' then the new velocity = 3v

Therefore,

Therefore, from eq (1)

Therefore his new time was twice as much as the previous time.

Hope the answer is helpful.
