why we write this number 404 in error.
what is its meaning ​

The HTTP 404 Not Found Error means that the webpage you were trying to reach could not be found on the server. It is a Client-side Error which means that either the page has been removed or moved and the URL was not changed accordingly, or that you typed in the URL incorrectly.

Hey mate,

404 Error means that the page you were looking for was not found. There are two reasons for 404 Error :-

• You inserted a wrong URL
• The page has been removed.

404 came from room 404 because this room was the central database of WORLD WIDE WEB in Switzerland. A group of three people were manually locating requested files and sending the files to people who made the request over the Web.

But because of problems such as people entering the wrong file name.

So an error popped up like *ROOM 404:FILE NOT FOUND* and the rest is history.
