Eshan purchased a new building for her business. Being in the prime location, she decided to make
some more money by putting up an advertisement sign for a rental ad income on the roof of the
building.
From a point P on the ground level, the angle of elevation of the roof of the building is 30 (degree) and
the angle of elevation of the top of the signboard is 45 (degree). The point P is at a distance of 24 m
from the base of the building.
On the basis of the above information answer the following questions​

Given :- (from image)

  • AP = 24 m.
  • ∠APB = 30°
  • ∠APC = 45°

To Find :-

  • Height of buliding = x ?
  • Height of signboard = y ?

Solution :-

in Right angled ∆BAP, we have,

→ tan 30° = BA / AP

→ tan 30° = x / 24

→ (1/√3) = x / 24

→ √3x = 24

→ x = (24/√3) * (√3/√3)

→ x = (24√3)/3

→ x = 83 m (Ans.)

now,

in Right angled ∆CAP, we have,

→ tan 45° = CA / AP

→ tan 45° = (x + y) / 24

→ 1 = (x + y)/24

→ (x + y) = 24

putting value of x ,

→ 8√3 + y = 24

→ y = 24 - 8√3

→ y = 8(3 - √3) m . (Ans.)
