We make a lot of funny things that happen are kind of like "you had to be there" things. But my spanish class is really funny. There are these 3 white kids who have a "gang sign" and whenever one of them answers a question correctly, the kid says "gang sign!" and all the boys put their hands together like a wall above their heads, then bring their hands down onto their heads and pretend like they're breaking through a wall (their hands together). It's pretty hilarious.

On Halloween this year, a bunch of seniors dressed up as 80's retro skaters, and they brought a retro boom box, and they skated through the halls during passing time playing the music. They're seniors, so they didn't get into trouble.

One interesting thing is that people try so hard to be cool. If they say something they think someone would respond to in a positive way, such as a joke or a sarcastic remark where someone would say, "yeah!" or something of the sort, and no one is really listening to them, they repeat it again. I always listen to this and never say anything, so I find it interesting that they feel they need to say their comment again if no one says anything back.

Some guys in my math class are pretty funny. They ask the teacher if they can tell a joke, and then she'll say no, annoyed, but one of the kids says it anyway. Sometimes it's funny, and sometimes it's not, but it doesn't matter, it's the fact that they went against what the teacher wanted that makes us laugh at the joke sort of as a sign of respect. I don't think anyone realizes that this is why we laugh, but it really is. Another funny thing the guys do is say in place of words, random words, like cabinet or something. For example, they'll say, "I wasn't hungry this morning. All I had was a glass of cabinet." "What the printer?" They also say things, like if someone pounds on the table or a wall, "You're hitting on a table/wall." Get it, hitting on? It makes me crack up profusely every time. One of the guys is always talking about Ron Paul, a Republican candidate, and even though we're in the middle of a math lesson, we still listen, out of a sign of respect, because we respect him and all the funny things.
