The history of sports in India is believed to be 8000 years old, from the time of Indus Valley civilization. Indians were one of the most modern and developed civilizations in the ancient period.

In fact, many historians are still astonished by the civilizations’ neat architecture, hygiene, and overall sense of town planning. However, they didn’t stop there. many pieces of evidence suggest that the people played an early form of chess and invented dice. The existence of seals recovered from the sites of Indus valley and other artifacts also proves the fact that hunting and boxing were practiced then.
