Recapturing of The Escaped Lion
The entire school became epicenter of unprecedented bustle yesterday when a lion from the nearby zoo accidentally wandered into my school campus. How it entered the school, is still a mystery. It must have entered the school from the adjoining park after being chased.
I was sitting in my class near the window on the third floor, when I saw it prowling in the ground. No sooner had I seen it than I screamed ‘Lion! Lion! There is lion in the school ground!’
My screams alerted the entire school. All the doors to the school building were slammed shut. The police was informed which further informed the Forest Department.
Within half an hour a team of professional captors arrived. They tranquilized the lion and hauled it into a cage and took it out of the school. Later on we were told that owing to the carelessness of the attendant of the lion’s den, the lion had escaped from the open door. All the children and the teachers thanked God for averting any mishap at the school.
It was the morning interval time and I headed to the restroom near the playground. As I passed a few trees in the ground, I heard a sort of muffled sound coming from behind them. I waited for some time but the sound did not come. Thinking I must have been mistaken, I continued to walk when I stepped on something. Immediately, I heard a small growl. I looked down to see what I had stamped on. It led me to behind the trees. Suddenly, I saw a lion’s head looking at me.
After panicking for a moment, I ran towards the toilet shouting “Lion, lion”. The lion followed me there. I opened one door and quickly moved aside. The lion came charging behind me with full force and dashed into the toilet. I took this opportunity to quickly lock the door from outside. As I stepped outside, I saw the watchman coming. I told him and he, in turn, informed the headmaster. The headmaster informed the zoo officials who came in ten minutes with a huge cage and some meat. I took them to the place I had trapped the animal. They kept the door of the cage open with the meat inside in front of the toilet door and opened it. The greedy lion could not resist the temptation of the meat and it rushed towards the same. The doors of the cage came sliding down. The beast was trapped inside and was taken to the zoo.
