He was born on November 14, 1889 at Allahabad. His father Shri Motilal Nehru was a leading Lawyer of his town. He was brought up like an prince. After his early education at home by an English tutor, he was sent to England for higher studies. He took his degree in Law from England and returned to a India as a barrister.
Mahatma Gandhi and other great leaders of Indian freedom movement were trying to free our motherland from the yoke of foreign rule. Pt. Nehru came in contact of Mahatma Gandhi.
