HEYA! HERE'S YOUR ANSWER

Compared to a few decades ago, research has shown that children today are investing far more time texting and surfing the Internet on their cell phones for information rather than turning to traditional sources such as: books, magazines or newspapers. Considering that around seventy-five percent of teens own cell phones, according to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, it is natural for them to use it as a source of information. While it is commendable that children satisfy their curiosity by looking up information, the fact remains that at that age, many have not yet learnt to distinguish between reliable and untrustworthy sources. Helping children to develop good reading habits goes a long way in teaching them how to become better readers, improve their writing styles and research more discriminately. More importantly, a study by the Nevada University shows that children raised with good reading habits tend to stay in school on average three years more than their non-book-loving peers.

Answer:

Books are Better than Mobile Phones

A few decades ago, children were keener towards devoting their time in reading books but in a matter of few years the drastic change has been noticed. Research says that children today are investing more time in texting and surfing the Internet on their mobile phones for information rather than going through books, newspapers and magazines. Around 75% of teenagers own mobile phones and use it for getting information. Looking up for information which is not always available in print is a fastest way of knowing things but it doesn’t teach to distinguish between reliable and untrustworthy sources. Plus, the language of certain write-ups given in websites helps in the deterioration of language in children and teenagers. Encouraging the young generation to develop good reading habits teaches them to become patient and better readers, improve their writing style and ability, and research more discriminately. Reading helps in imagination and processing of information becomes possible. With internet, it’s not always possible, especially, if one refers to websites giving away half information without your knowledge. So books are far better than mobile phones.
