Children’s day is the day, which is completely dedicated to children of our country, who are the future leaders of the nation. The day of children, also referred as “Bal Diwas” is celebrated on 14th November to honour the birth anniversary of our country’s first Prime Minister. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was immensely fond of children and children were also very affectionate by pt. Nehru and they call him with love as “Chacha Nehru” or “Uncle Nehru”. According to Pt. Nehru, children are like the buds in garden and should be grown with lots of love and care. Proper guidance and education should be the most priority for them as they would lead our country in future and can take it to the heights of success.
On Children’s Day, many programs and events are organized at various places in manner to celebrate it with huge enthusiasm like kids are offered toffees and chocolates at schools, arrangement of cultural programs like plays, singing, dancing and fancy dress competition, speech narration on freedom fighters, movies based on children are telecasted on television, distribution of gifts, clothes, toys, stationary and other required items among orphanage children. By making our children happy and feeling secure, we actually celebrate children’s day and remember our “Chacha Nehru”.
