Answer:

The 15th of August is celebrated as a public holiday with flag-raising ceremonies, marches, and charitable activities. Beautiful celebrations of this day take place in schools, universities, companies, community centres, public buildings, and private associations. On this day, the Indian Prime Minister addresses the nation while raising the flag at the Red Fort. On TV, Doordarshan broadcasts the entire event in real time.

Without the tireless efforts of several heroic freedom warriors, India would not have achieved independence. Some of the well-known figures are Bhagat Singh, the Rani of Jhansi, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Subhas Chandra Bose, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Ram Prasad Bismil, and Ashfaqulla Khan.

The Indian liberation movement has seen important contributions from a number of women. Some important names to keep in mind include Savitribai Phule, Mahadevi Verma, Capt. Laxmi Sehgal, Rani Laxmibai, and Basanti Devi. These women, along with a large number of others, were instrumental in guiding India toward freedom.

After a 200-year struggle, India finally gained its independence. On August 15, 1947, India acquired full independence from the British. Because of this, every Indian citizen, whether they reside in India or overseas, attaches importance to the day. On August 15, 2021, India will have celebrated 74 years of independence. This day also serves to remind us of the difficulties and sacrifices made by freedom fighters in the fight for independence.

Independence day can also be pronounced as the birthday of our country as we got freedom from 200 years of British rule. On August 15, 1947, India was announced free from British imperialism after the long-time struggle of our citizens and the sacrifices of freedom fighters. That day is called the red-letter day in the history of our country. 15th August is celebrated every year as a national holiday throughout the country. It is commended as a public celebration with flag hoisting, social works, and marches. On this day, we remember the selfless sacrifices of our leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawarharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Globalbandhu Das, and Subhas Chandra Bose. We couldn’t have acquired independence without the contribution of our freedom fighters such as Chandra Shekhar Azad, Ram Prasad Bismil, Bhagat Singh, Rani of Jhansi, Ashfaqulla Khan, etc. Women contributed a lot to the independence as well such as Mahadevi Verma, Basanti Devi, Savitribai Phule, Rani Laxmibai, Capt Laxmi Sehgal, etc. Independence day is very important and we as a citizen of this country should be proud of being Indian and keep thinking and doing well for our country in any terms. This day reminds us that our forefathers have done their share of duty and now this lies in our hands that how we form the future of our country.
