Online Shopping Culture

As we have been progressing by the years, science and technology is also progressing at a rapid pace. We can see that from the different scientific wonders around us like mobiles, laptops, tablets. And the biggest invention by man is internet. Just a click and you can connect with anyone residing in any part of the world. Another gift to us by technology is online shopping.

Online shopping culture is the new trend now. We can get food, clothes, books, medicines, electronic items and a paraphernelia of things delivered to our footsteps by internet at attractive prices and special discounts. This indeed is a boon to the customers. Gone are the days to go out and shop when we can get everything at our homes. Sites like Myntra, Amazon and Flipkart have made our lives so easy.

However is it a bane for the small shops. Due to the facility of online shopping  we don't go out and buy things from them. They suffer losses and often one can find instances of the shops being closed down as they are losing customers fast since they cannot provide discounts like those online.

Online shopping culture has both its pros and cons. While we can laze around and order everything without having to go out and walk around. On the other hand, it is a disadvantage to small shops and vendors as they can't sell their products much and compete with these online platforms.

Explanation:

Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet using a web browser or a mobile app. Consumers find a product of interest by visiting the website of the retailer directly or by searching among alternative vendors using a shopping search engine, which displays the same product's availability and pricing at different e-retailers. As of 2020, customers can shop online using a range of different computers and devices, including desktop computers, laptops, tablet computers and smartphones.

An online shop evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a regular "bricks-and-mortar" retailer or shopping center; the process is called business-to-consumer (B2C) online shopping. When an online store is set up to enable businesses to buy from another businesses, the process is called business-to-business (B2B) online shopping. A typical online store enables the customer to browse the firm's range of products and services, view photos or images of the products, along with information about the product specifications, features and prices.
