A farmer is the soul of the nation as One of our late prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, gave a slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.” He realized that an Indian farmer who feeds the nation and upon him depends the agricultural production, therefore he should be provided with the new tools and technologies and also provides with Better seeds, fertilizers, manures and chemicals for agriculture which motivates him to grow more.
Economic Importance
The farmer is so much important for the economy as well as he is the one which grows so much of crops to feed the whole nation as well as some crops which are also gets export from which the government also gets profit. Drawbacks
The Indian farmer is quite unaware they still follows the old methods of agriculture because of their poverty and ignorance, he cannot make use of scientific implementation and fertilizers as well. Indian agriculture is so much dependent on the monsoon so sometimes it fails, sometimes it destroys his regular crops. More or continuous rain for many days cause floods which destroy crops.As we can see that poverty and unawareness are two great problems for the Indian farmer.
