An Indian farmer that is respected by everyone. He is the one who produces grains and vegetables for the citizens of the country. All over the year, the Indian farmer remains busy in ploughing the fields, sowing seeds and reaping the crops, having a very busy and hard life. He does so much of hard work that without caring of the hard sun shining full of sweat.

Importance of Farmer

A farmer is the soul of the nation as One of our late prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, gave a slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.” He realized that an Indian farmer who feeds the nation and upon him depends the agricultural production, therefore he should be provided with the new tools and technologies and also provides with Better seeds, fertilizers, manures and chemicals for agriculture which motivates him to grow more.

Economic Importance

The farmer is so much important for the economy as well as he is the one which grows so much of crops to feed the whole nation as well as some crops which are also gets export from which the government also gets profit. Overall production of the crops if it is better positively affects the economy. Like the kesar from Jammu and Kashmir which is very popular and gets exported.

Drawbacks

The  Indian farmer is quite unaware they still follows the old methods of agriculture because of their poverty and ignorance, he cannot make use of scientific implementation and fertilizers as well. Indian agriculture is so much dependent on the monsoon so sometimes it fails, sometimes it destroys his regular crops. More or continuous rain for many days cause floods which destroy crops.As we can see that poverty and unawareness are two great problems for the Indian farmer.

Conclusion

Indian Farmer has the capability to survive with the several seasons, climate change, soil conditions and often harsh devastation of wildfires, droughts and floods. As he is so much hard working and does so much for the country.
