Assam floods.

• Assam is one of the most sensitive region when it comes to floods. This is the home of many rivers that flows through it. And during rainy season they carry enormous amount of waters from hills and mountains and turn out to be disastrous for life of the people.
• On 19 June, Silcher of Assam was flooded and later this spreading to 32 districts and caused the deaths of over 200 people across the state.
• This flood was occurred due to a breach of dyke of the Barak River. This flood has affected nearly 5.4 million people.
• Year on year preparation starts when rainy season is about to come but due to poor management and infrastructure, this repeated again and again.
• It is high time to get a proper blue print to manage and prevent these floods and work on it.
