The moon is one of the. smallest of the heavenly bodies which can be seen from the earth. But it is the nearest to us, and on that account, with the exception of the sun, appears the target. The moon travels round the earth in a period of about one month, just as the earth goes round the sun in a day.
The earth, however, turns round upon its axis once every twenty-four hours, thus causing the alternation of day and night, whereas the moon takes a month to revolve on her axis, so that she always presents to us very nearly the same surface.

MOON
Moon is a heavenly body in space that is revolving around the earth and is hence called the natural satellite of the Earth. Moon is one of the major reasons that had made life possible on earth. Only Earth has a single moon, while Mars , Jupiter ,Saturn , Neptune and Uranus are having more than one moon whereas some planets like mercury, Venus have no moon. The moon was formed when a heavenly body (whose size was almost equals to Mars ) was collided to Earth, many millions of centuries before. when that heavenly body was collided to Earth , the broken parts of those two heavenly body, formed the moon. One of the interesting thing about moon is that we cannot see the below part of the moon because its revolution time and rotation time are almost equal.
