I think you’d be surprised by how often you use a product that is related to agriculture. Start with the shampoo you use each morning, then put on your leather shoes, and get into a vehicle with tires that drive you to work or school where you use paper and books. Shampoo, shoes, tires and paper are all byproducts of agriculture. Other items include pharmaceuticals, x-ray film, heart valves, lumber, dry wall, tool handles, seat foam, adhesives, finger nail polish, crayons and sports uniforms just to name a few.

Beyond food and many other products we use every day, a day without agriculture would put more than 22 million people out of work without their farm or farm-related job, including the farm families who operate almost 99 percent of U.S. farms. And 75 percent of our nation’s wildlife would be without the food and habitat provided by farmers and ranchers.
