Dream That Came True
Dreams do come true if you believe in them with all your heart. I wished to be a champion footballer; but my poor parents could not get me admitted in any football academy. The beauty of life lies in the fact that all great men and women were seldom from affluent families. The story of success begins with challenges. So did my story begin with obstacles and challenges.
In spite of being poor, I was a determined and strong guy. There was a power in me that always egged me on to do my best. I would stand on my roof-top and see the players practice maneuvers in the ground. Once a football came flying into my house from the academy; and fortunately no one came to claim it. I kept the football and in my small lawn, I would practice all the skills and moves I had seen the players in the academy practice. It went on for many months.
As a result of my passion, I learnt to control football with miraculous skills. People would often wonder at my dribbling, kicking, and other skills. Once I was dribbling with my football on the roof-top. I did not let the ball fall for many minutes. The coach in the academy was watching all the while. He got impressed with my skills. He called me and asked me to come to the academy ground. He said to me, ‘Will you play the practice match tomorrow?’
‘Of course’ , replied I, ‘I would love to.’
I scored a hattrick in the practice match leading to the win of my side. The coach got further impressed with me. He decided to include me in the team that was to play a crucial match against the most famous team of the city.
I also scored a hattrick in that match. The sponsors were attracted towards me; they hired me. I became a huge sensation. I became the number one player of my country. Thus from scratch I inked my own success story.
My dream of becoming a football player came true.
