It was a still night. Max was studying for his Science test which was scheduled for the next day. He was confident that he would pass it with flying colours.
He was revising on the topic of “Reproduction ”, fifteen minutes later and he must have fallen into a deep slumber. He must have been extremely exhausted as he only awoke the next morning. Unfortunately, the next day when he still could not wake up, it was only ten minutes of incessant ringing that Max awoke. He shot a quick glance at the alarm clock and realised that he was extremely late for school. Being late, he did not even have his breakfast. He rushed to school.
Arriving at school, he was shocked to see that his teacher was already giving out the Science test paper. Within minutes of settling into his seat, the Science test began. While doing his paper, John frowned with anxiety. “Why can’t I recall what I had studied yesterday?” John thought as he peered down on the questions. At that juncture, his hand turned as cold as ice that he could not even hold his pencil properly. John stared blankly at his test paper, trying his best to answer the questions. Unfortunately, he remained blank all the time. He could not comprehend what was happening to him. He handed his paper with a heavy heart for he knew what awaited before him. The next day, the Science papers were returned. Receiving his test paper, he stared in astonishment at his results. He had failed miserably. Like a burst faucet, tears began rolling down his cheeks. He feared the consequences that lay before him at home reaching home,
Reaching home, he showed his parents his test paper. As expected, he received a nasty scolding from his mother. As punishment, he was banned from watching television for a fortnight. He accepted his punishment. He had learnt a valuable lesson and never did he do things at the eleventh hour. From then onwards, John had a timetable and struck by it.
