Parents play an important role in educating their children. This is because they have a great influence their children. Nowadays, children have lesser respect towards their parents compared to older days. There are many differences between modern parenting in terms of education and freedom.
First and foremost, the methods that parents used to educate their children are different in the past. At this point, parents nowadays are not too strict in educating their children. For instance, they prefer to use psychological approach such as giving advices and giving a space for the children to think. In contrast, traditional parents are stricter in educating their children. In brief, modern parenting is more lenient compared to traditional parenting.
Next, parents nowadays are treating their children differently in terms of giving freedom to their children. Modern parents are giving their children too much freedom. For example, the cases of social illness such as abortion and drug addiction are increasing as the children abused the freedom given to them. On the other hand, traditional parents were known to monitor their children closely. As a result, the children in the past were more well behaved and disciplined. In summary, parents nowadays are more lenient to their children compared to parents in the past.
In a nutshell, modern parents and the traditional parents differ in view of education and freedom. In order to discipline the children, parents should more firms to children and try not to spoil them. So that they will be a useful person in the future.

Adolescent and parenting modern relationship:

The very important phase of life for any individual is the adolescent age. Parenting plays a pivotal role in moulding the children either in a positive or negative way. The relation between parents and children will not build overnight. It takes it’s time to be either in a positive or negative way depending upon the journey of the relation.

Traditional parenting involved strict orders not giving room to take advantage of the elders. The parents never entertained fun and disrespect from their children. It was always a formal discussion from the father. Mother always directed to the father for any money related issues and major decisions. Children were very disciplined and obeyed to their parents. They used to depend on their parents for their career and life partners and other decisions and always lived up to their expectations.

Modern parenting is a friendly oriented approach which contains both positive and negative aspects. The children who understand the freedom given to them and act accordingly will benefit from this approach. But the children who take advantage and misuse money, relations will end up in a bad state. They don’t even have respect towards their parents, elders and other women. Without proper boundaries, children are getting addicted to drugs, unhealthy relationships leading to abortions. Taking decisions without consulting parents at a very young age will spoil their futures.

Modern parenting should draw a line for their children so that they understand the limits and do not cross them. When they are guided in a way where they know what is right and what is wrong at a very young age, it becomes easier for the children to follow.

Anything taught at a young age will stay in their minds for longer period of time. I personally feel Indian mythology plays a major role to protect our culture and tradition. Discussing the characters with the children helps them to interpret the wise things to follow. This enables to understand the pros and cons of situations. Let us all inculcate the habit of studying Ramayana, Bhagavatam and Mahabharata to pass over to the next generations.
