Well it was quite a while back now . But the cook at the school always had a chip on her shoulder and everyone was afraid her , don't know why they were but anyways . Shel always take your advice personaly when just trying to help .no matter who it was . Even members of the governing body was afraid to approach her . That's how bad things were . Me , I am only afraid of God. And God made her human just like me and you and any other human being .

One day being a Monday, there had been a function in the hall we occupy Monday to Friday as a daycare centre .

All I asked was . Aunty w , did you perhaps leave the microwave plug in . Or did the caretaker perhaps allow the people to use the schools stuff .

That woman , got soooooo angry . Started swearing at me FYou …. You f’k think I'm a fkn child that you can just say anything too. Please note forthe record …. I keep things professional no matter what . I remained calm . The poor caretaker stood there open mouth. Not knowing what to do and or say . He was speechless. At this point I closed the doors to the kitchen area . And calming her down was not going to happen. She had a tray in her hand and when I say she wanted to punch me in the face with it . She would have . I stood my ground ,remains calm . She out the tray down and had her fists clenched. She continued and said I will fyou up right now .

I left the kitchen, and all the staff and parents standing around were looking at me . I apologised to parents and staff for hearing all the madness and asked the teachers to play some barney for the learners. Just to take their mind's off the happening.

I reported to the governing body what had transpired etc etc .

The day went on . Days turned to weeks ,weeks into months . And everyday I'd just greet her when I got to work . She still greeted back . Then towards the middle of the year , the cook decided it was time for her to pack up and be home for her grandkids. I wasn't happy to be honest ,felt things were left hanging and unresolved .

I spoke to the end teachers. Have each class make a farewell card and place all the learners name in their . I told the tea hers to place the kids in a big circle . Had a chair in the centre and she' sat on the chair . Each teacher handed her the card they made with their group . There were x4 classes. Then each teacher bid her farewell . I was obviously the last . I thanked her and wished her well .

SHE GRABBED ME TIGHT , GAVE ME A BIG HUG . SAID THANK YOU FOR SUCH A NICE SEND OFF. AND APOLOGISED FOR HER BEHAVIOUR and asked if I could ever forgive her . Ofcourse I said . Alls forgiven .

Today ,she will greet me with a hug, kiss and smile on her face
