The aristocratic Rana regime that began from 2nd Aswin, 1903 B.S. existed for 104 years in Nepal. The lack of public consciousness was the main reason that there were no revolts against the Rana regime. But slowly with citizens becoming more conscious, there was collective resistance all over. Founded in 1988 B.S., Prachanda Gorkha was the first revolutionary group to go against Ranas. But their activities weren't very effective. Five people formed Nepal's first political party in Ombahal in 20th Jestha, 1993 B.S. named "Praja Parisad Party." The founding members were Tanka Prasad Acharya(President), Dashrath Chand(Vice-President), Ramhari Sharma(General Secretary), Dharmabhakta Mathema and Jeevraj

Sharma. Four people achieved martyrdom in 1997 B.S. because of their anti-Rana propaganda.

To the sort-of student who wrote this question,

To write an essay on “the armed revolution 2007 BS,” you must first do some research. This is where all good essayists start, even young students writing an essay the size of a short paragraph.

WARNING: Make sure to write it in your own words and do not just copy text from Wikipedia or any other site. Do not ask anybody else to write this essay for you.

Ask and answer the following questions.

WHERE did this revolution occur? (hint: It was probably Nepal.)
WHO started the revolution?
WHY did they start it?
WHAT were the results of the revolution?
WHEN did it take place? (hint: It probably happened decades before you or your parents were born.)
HOW did the revolution happen? What led up to it?
To keep your short essay to 200 words, use Microsoft Word’s capability of counting the words. Click on Properties then Statistics then Word Count. Revise your writing as necessary.

Oh, a collateral benefit to doing your own research is you will learn something unique about history, and possibly about people who have affected your own life!
