Under the Central Government's new scheme "Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat", Chhattisgarh has been paired with Gujarat, officials informed.
Under this scheme, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat will have exchange of art-culture, education, literature, and traditions.
Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has been made State Nodal Officer for "Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat" scheme. In addition, nodal officers have also been appointed for various departments.
Public Relations, Tourism and Culture Secretary Santosh Mishra recently chaired a meeting at Mantralaya regarding this scheme.
In the meeting, officials of all the departments concerned were present. At the onset, State Nodal Officer gave detailed information about "Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat" scheme.
Mishra informed that on the anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced this scheme, with the chief objective of unity in diversity.
He informed that Central Government's Niti Aayog has chalked out this scheme and MoU format for the scheme, under which Chhattisgarh has been paired with Gujarat.
Under the scheme, various programmes will be organised in year 2017 from January to December under the joint aegis of both the States.
In the meeting, representatives of departments concerned were informed about the events to be organised by them and were accordingly allotted responsibilities.
Mishra informed that Niti Ayog and Union Human Resource Ministry has issued guidelines regarding various activities and works to be included under "Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat" scheme.
