Essay on autobiography of a curtain:

A curtain is a piece of cloth meant to obscure or block light or drafts, or water.  A 'curtain' is also a movable drape or screen in a theatre which divides the 'stage from the auditorium' or which serves as a background. Curtains are often placed on the interior windows of a building, for example at night, to prevent light from escaping from outside the building or to stop people from seeing inside, often because of reasons of privacy.

'Curtains hung over a doorway' are known as 'Curtains come in a variety of shapes', 'materials, sizes, colours and patterns'. They often have their own sections within 'department stores', while some shops are completely dedicated to selling curtains. 'Curtains' differ in 'accordance to cleanability', 'dust and oil retention', 'ultraviolet light deterioration', 'fire resistance', 'life span', and 'noise absorption'. Curtains may be moved by 'press-button pads', with 'cords', 'remote-controlled computers', or 'moved by hand'.

They are 'held out of the window' by means of 'curtain tie-backs'. Measuring curtain sizes required for each window differs greatly in accordance to the type of curtain required, 'weight and type of curtain, and window size'. Curtains are a type of window treatment that completes the house's overall appearance. Window treatment helps to control the environment and the natural light stream into the room'. The 'drapery or curtains' effect is best viewed in the 'daytime and can look attractive' even at night and with proper 'indoor light positioning', can look 'eye-catching even at night .

Explanation:

I have been living my life as the enclosing item in the household of the Smiths for just about a month. Before Mrs. Smith brought me home, I was housed in a glitzy showroom where curtains like me are showcased and out out for purchase.

Being made a part of the family made it an exciting journey for me. I love seeing the children play hide and seek in my drapes, but at times they pull too hard which hurts me a lot. The maid washes me every week, making sure that I am scrubbed clean and fresh. I am also given a special washing solution that is specially used only on me. But during raining season, I feel dull and boring for I do not get used too much. I love keeping the house safe from the hard rays of the sun, and also at the same time make sure to get the wind flow through me too. I hope I will be an important part of the family's life in the coming future.
