Bacteria is non-green, unicellular microscopic organisms with primitive nucleus. The scientist, Antony von Leuen Hoek found this for the first time. Bacteria cell may be rod shaped, rounded, comma shaped or spiral. They are responsible for producing disease in man, animals and plants. They also help in decomposing dead bodies and organic wastes. As a result, the decomposition converts into organic fertilizer and mixes with the soil to increase fertility. Thus, the plant can collect nutrients from the soil. Some bacteria fix nitrogen in soil and thus helps plants to collect it from there. N2 is essential for the plants for their survival and growth. Bacteria also help in removing jute fibres from the stick. So, we can conclude that although Bacteria are harmful microscopic organisms; they are essential for us and natural balance.
