I certainly hope that you are not asking for someone else to write an essay for you? That would be so unethical and counter productive, what would you learn if other people do your work?
So assuming the best, I am going to suggest two poets for you to investigate. John Donne lived in the 17th century and his body of work is fascinating. But what might be of interest to you is the large number of poems that he wrote, quite frankly and honestly, about his feelings towards his wife. Other than the style of language, the sentiment still holds true today, they are touching and almost salacious poems, you at least ought to read them.
The other poet would be William Blake. Blake lived in the last of the 18th century and the beginning of the nineteenth century. He lived in the London metropolitan area, the industrial revolution had just started. Mind you this was a time of mom and pop enterprises, literally someone would build a small and crude smelter in their back garden and make some metal and shape it in a small home workshop. But lots of people were doing this, and Blake could see the suddenness of the event and the import of it. Also he could see the inevitable future of it. So he wrote these epic metaphorical and allegorical works describing the future. His presence is still breathtaking in the totality of his vision.
Those would be interesting essays and at least the subject matter won’t put you to sleep.
