He was the founder of the Maurya empire in ancient India.

Chandragupta was credited with saving the country from maladministration and freeing it from foreign domination.

He build a great empire with huge army.

He became the disciple of Jain monk sage Badrabhau.

He was succeeded by his son Bindusara after his death at Shravanbelgol in Karnataka, India.
