If we drink the polluted water in rivers and lakes we will fall ill. Water also gets polluted at several places underground and becomes unsuitable for drinking. Water that is suitable for drinking is called portable water.
We can kill germs by the following ways-

2.ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT-a specialtype of light called ultraviolet light kills germs.
3.CHLORINATION-chlorine is added to water in the form of chlorine tablets to kill the germs.

Clean Water is very important for health. If we drink dirty water than several diseases make take place, but if we drink clean water than no such diseases will take place. And specially boiled water for 5 min can cure all the germs present in the water
