Colors in nature

Look around urself yes I am talking to u look around urself. What do you find? Obviously u will find some kind of objects and other things, which are colourful and attractive to ur eyes. Now tell me what make these objects appear to be attractive. Just like girls apply a lot of make up to look beautiful, pretty and all. But what about the objects they don't apply any kind of make up, so what actually makes them attractive. Don't think too much, leave I will tell you,it's the colour of those objects which attracts our attention towards them. Just think about a world without any colour ,will you like to live in such a world? I am sure we will not like to live.

Tress without colour.. Aah no way, the nature herself only holds a variety of colourful and attractive things and imaging of these objects without colour will be too unsual, won't it be? Yes it will be. I mean just have a look at some most beautiful things around you right from sea (river, stream, well) below the surface to the sky above the surface there is colour present everywhere. Human eye and the human mind respond to this beautiful and attractive world of color and identify themselves with it,without colour we won't be even able to identify objects. There are many terms related to colour which we all use in our day to day life. When a person is cheerful and bright we refer to him as a 'colorful personality'.Similarly the different colors are used to indicate human moods, feelings and attitudes.Blue which is also my favorite colour is associated with depression, while white is likened with serenity while green with jealousy and while the red colour with rage. They don't only relieve moods feelings and attitudes but also they are also used to relieve tension. Some psychologists have investigated the effect of colours on the working ability of workers and have come to the conclusion that certain colors are more conducive to Positive thinking than others.

The nature fulfils man's longing for color: there is a variety in everything. For example let's have a look at sky,it can be clear and blue, it can be dark with clouds, it reflects the glory of the rising sun and the variegated hues of the setting sun. Another example is sea , which is normally associated with blue is not really so all the time. It can he blue, green, grey and many more subtle shades and even the rivers and streams reflect the surrounding area and acquire that colour. The Coleridge's poem 'The Ancient Mariner' is rich in its description of the world of nature. The people who do not observe things are not able to notice the finer shades and are consequently not able to enjoy this valuable side of life.

Spring is rich with colour, autumn provides a restful view to the eye with its soft browns and ripe greens and winter brings in the whiteness of the snow along with its stillness conveying the effect of sleepiness and hibernation. If on the one hand there is joy and vivacity in spring, there is coolness in the abundance of the green forests, and a challenge in the dark rocks of the mountains and an immensity in the vast, barren stretches of sand.

The nature's world of color, especially among the animals, has a deeper purpose than there variety. Colour of the animals helps them to successfully camouflage themselves. Let have a look at the toad,it is brown and mingles with the color of the earth, the frog merges with the green colour of the scum.
And the polar bear is white but not so the tropical bear. The fishes also have the ability to change colour in order to mingle with their surroundings as do some birds like the willow ptarmigan. The lizards too have different colors according to their surroundings - a desert lizard will be sand-colored while a lizard in a heavy monsoon area will be of greenish hue. Butterflies and insects also share this characteristic. This is does not mean that animals and birds do not have bright colors which contrast with their surroundings. This changing of colours have purpose.Bright colors of the peacock are not only a pleasure to the human eye but they also push the peahen into obscurity and offer her greater protection.
______________________________
Thus, the conclusion is that the color does not only give pleasure, it also has a purpose.
We can't imagine life without the color of nature! That would indeed be dull and monotonous: the sparkle of life will not he there. Color also has brought up problems. The whole problem of racial discrimination is connected with the color of the human skin, which is created by the human mind. The mens are hidebound in their narrow beliefs and have not yet learnt to value the variety of color and have not understood nature's purpose behind this.

Answer:
The Natural Color System (NCS) is a proprietary perceptual color model. It is based on the color opponency hypothesis of color vision, first proposed by German physiologist Ewald Hering.[1] The current version of the NCS was developed by the Swedish Colour Centre Foundation, from 1964 onwards. The research team consisted of Anders Hård, Lars Sivik and Gunnar Tonnquist, who in 1997 received the AIC Judd award for their work.[2][3] The system is based entirely on the phenomenology of human perception and not on color mixing. It is illustrated by a color atlas, marketed by NCS Colour AB in Stockholm.
