African countries and India share many similarities. Threads I mean
the points on which they are able to discuss and cooperate for development and
to fight against threats to their cultures, histories, literature.
Here I mention the threats that both African and Indian countries face and the reasons.
1. Biopiracy. It is claimed that American and other advanced countries have the habit of stealing the good traditional medicinal secrets from India and Africa. Then they develop medicines and then claim as their own by creating an IPR. Reports appeared in media that many Indian secrets had been stolen so far.
2. Destruction of rich heritage/monuments due to internal fights and from cross border conflicts. This is often the case in Africa. In India too there are some such incidents.
3. Disappearance of Ancient local practices. Youth and children getting influenced by foreign education, media and films, have forgotten what their grandparents taught them.
4. Diminishing importance of local languages. Often many use foreign words and speak only in foreign languages. So the languages and the culture as well as the history are gradually lost. Instead of learning, using and contributing to vocabulary in local languages, youth import the foreign words and grammar.
5. Overpowering of American, European, Chinese cultures, literature, institutions, which may be conflicting with the local one. This could be in terms of economics, politics, culture, education, medicine, life style etc. Often they are reflected in family functions and daily living styles. Conflicting practices confuse children.
6. Internal threats to African and Indian societies are violation of social rights of children and women. Abuse of children's rights continues still.
7. Poverty, development, literacy, unemployment, women empowerment, equality of women in the society, crimes at lower grass roots are common between the two regions.
8. Many peace lovers are from these regions. They follow UN, NAM and other bodies. World bank and UNO bodies play important roles in the development and planning of these regions.

Some African countries and India are geographically near Equator. In villages people are in similar phase. Africa and India are both habited since ancient times. They possess rich culture and traditions. Africa and India have suffered invasions and colonization by other countries. Superstitions still prevail. There are many tribals, poor and uneducated people. Colored people live here.
People have long suffered from oppression, poverty, diseases, ignorance etc. Both people have been tolerant to external attacks. These countries are now a big market for advanced countries. Economy in these countries is affected by the economies of powerful West and East. Some countries depend on advanced countries for funding. UNO plays an important role in both. African countries and India have fought for independence in a similar way. India and some African countries are part of Non Aligned Movement and Commonwealth.
Culture, literature, history of these regions - probably are now being gradually overridden by external influences. Large undivided families are broken into micro families. Youth is influenced by other cultures.
They use a lot of fossil fuels and have many outdated technologies. They generate pollution. Deforestation, famines, contagious diseases, pollution are probably common. Corruption probably plays a role in the administration.
There was slavery and bonded labour, child labour in these countries in history. Now European languages probably dominate the literature, and education. The cultural heritages, many of them being old and not having sufficient protection or funds, may not live long. Externally funded religion institutions may propagate some ideas that may be conflicting with the local cultural practices. That can confuse the children and youth.
