Answer:

Corruption is the exploitation of public property, power and influence for fulfilling the selfish purpose to gain personal fulfillment. Corruption is a poison which has been spread in the mind of wrong people of society, community and country. It has affected the growth of a country as well as its individuals and given way to reduced income. Corruption is the unnecessary use of both power and resources by both governmental and non-governmental organizations. It is one of the biggest reasons for inequalities in the country. It affects the growth and development in all aspects such as socially, economically and politically.

We all know that corruption is a pest that is slowly destroying our society. It is eating us from within. It stunts the individual’s growth as well as the societies and country’s growth and development as well. It is a social evil that is playing with the minds of individuals and destroying them from within intellectually, economically and socially.

Corruption is getting bigger day by day because of people’s increasing hunger for more power, prestige and money. It is the abuse of authority, public position, public resources, power, etc by an individual to gain his/her personal gratifications. According to the sources, it has been acknowledged that India ranks three in the highly corrupted countries. It is spread extensively in the field of civil service, business, politics and other illegal fields.

India is known worldwide for its democracy but the democracy is under a lot of stress due to the increasing rates of corruption. The leaders, who contest for election, profess to eradicate corruption from the society and the country. But in the end, they all succumb to the temptation. The leaders lie to get their work done and end up cheating the voters who elected them.

One thing is for sure, India will be corruption free when our leaders stop their own corruption, first and foremost. It will be corruption free when the leaders use their status, money, power and position to do good in the society rather than dabbling in corruption to fuel their own personal banks and increase their own wealth. We must select honest and trustworthy leaders to lead us and run our country. Only honest leaders can reduce and end the corruption in the country. Youth of the country also need to be aware of all the reasons of corruption and get together to solve it.
