If kindness is the act of being kind as defined by the Oxford dictionary, it means "caring about others; gentle, friendly and generous". However, I believe that the definition can be extended and better encompassed by the Australian Kindness Movement which states "an act of kindness is a message from one heart to another, an act of love, an unspoken "I care" statement". Kindness, when allowed to flourish, is an all pervasive, all transcending, flowing current which sustains mankind and which is absolutely fundamental within our society and world.

If we are to establish the value of kindness, then we must find a scale on which to measure it. In the most logical way to deduct the value of something, then let us use the scale which is most commonly called upon in our society.

Creating a society full of kindness is not an easy task. This world is huge and there are lots of people. To fine group of kind people is not a cup of tea. But we can cultivate the habit of being kind with one another and be empathetic towards others. It should begin from the roots. We should be kind and understanding towards our family. It is then one can be kind toward other. For instance your family needs your moral in times of distress and you are all rude this will affect your family. But if you understand the situation and be supportive with your words and actions then everything will be fine. For this to happen, a person has to be positive. Think positive and be optimistic.  Because if you are positive in life automatically you will start thinking good about everyone and you will tend to be kind. In societal terms, one should learn to be positive always in order to be successful in life.
