Dussehra is one of the most significant festivals of the Hindu religion. It is a ten days long festival celebrated all through the country by the Hindu people with great enthusiasm. First nine days involves the worship of goddess Durga that’s why called as Navratra festival. On the tenth day people celebrate Navratra by burning the cartoon of the demon king, Ravana. The festival of Dussehra falls in the month of September or October just two or three weeks before the festival of Diwali. This festival is celebrated by worshipping the Hindu Goddess Durga. Devotees of the Lord Rama and Durga keep fast for the first and last day or whole nine days and worship the Goddess Durga. Nine days or Navratra is also known as Durga puja when goddess Durga is worshipped in her nine forms.

Dussehra great Hindu festival. We celebrate this festival for ten days. Ram Lila is played for nine days. The tenth day is the day of Dussehra. It is celebrated in memory of Rama's victory over Ravana.
A great fair is held on the Dussehra day. Effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkarna and Meghnad are set up in a big ground. A bazaar is held. The fair is in full swing by evening. The people reach the Dussehra ground in their best clothes.
There is a great rush at toys 'and sweets' shops. Children are happy. They buy toys and sweets. Palkies reach there before sunset. Then Rama and Lakshmana sets the effigies on fire. The people enjoy the scene. There is a great noise. At last the fair comes to an end. People come back home.
