It comes off in the month of October or November. Houses and shops are white-washed. They are nicely decorated. Beautiful pictures are hung on the walls. Temples look like newly married brides. The sweet sellers also begin to prepare sweets days before the festival. The businessmen open their new accounts on this day.
On this day, people put on new clothes. They go to the bazaars. They buy utensils, fruits and many other things. Children buy toys and crackers. Everybody looks happy and gay. Gifts are exchanged with friends and relatives. At night, there is light everywhere. People lights lamps and candles in rows. Children play with fireworks.
