Rivers are slowly and gradually dying in the country because either they are being encroached upon or they have been tied in form of dams.
Rivers like Argora, Harmu out of a number of rivers in Jharkhand are slowly dissipating as they have become to be used by villagers to live or being used by city dwellers for construction.
The reason for it is the lack of proper coordination between the environment and forest ministry, and the water and power ministry.
The major cause of the dying rivers can be attributed to the large scale mining operations being carried out in the state.
