Answer:

To sustain a democracy, education is very crucial. Without the citizen being educated, a nation won’t grow. All the indices that determine a prosperous nation solely depend on a literate group to discharge their responsibilities accordingly.

For a nation to sustain itself democratically, it must devise a mechanism that sustains its democracy.  Such a mechanism can be a viable system that would transfer knowledge to its citizens.

Nations should do it’s best to create a public education system that is free for all its citizens. Simply put, without informed electorates, a nation's democracy would suffer.

Democracy means a cultivated government of the people, by the people and for the people. In this type of government power is in the hands of people. They have a right to elect the government or dismiss the government.

For this, it is very important to have educated citizens. The people with proper knowledge of government system can think about the future of the nation. They should be aware of election process, ballot system, different political ideologies, ministries, judicial system, rights and duties of the citizens as well as of the governing party. They should have knowledge of Constitution.

Healthy democracy is possible only when educated people handle it. So it is rightly said that ‘Education fosters Democracy’.
