Most of us are addicted to social networks, like Facebook or Instagram. In these types of sites and applications, we are able to post pictures or send messages. We may have hundreds of friends on Facebook, but these 'friends' are not always the ones that stand up for us and stand by us. Those people who pull us through the dark chapters of our lives are rarely met on social media, they are the ones that we spend our time with in the real world. Friends on the virtual world seem to be great but they may be completely different in the real world. So, by talking to such people on the Internet, we waste time that could be spent with our actual friends. People are more open while texting someone, but they can just as easily trick you with fake emotions. Nowadays, there is an emoticon for every emotion humanly possible, but using these does not make you great at conversations. Meeting up with your longtime Facebook friend can be awkward as the things that you know about them are solely based on what all you texted about. By spending more time on such " social networking " platforms, we actually lose our social skills. Face-to-face conversation becomes a burden as texting is infinitely easier. The new generation unwinds through social media. While there are many advantages of social media such as faster transfer of messages, it is impossible to ignore that it is creating a world full of people who would rather click that perfect selfie rather than spend time with other people like their family members.
