It is not necessary to have a lot of money to contribute towards nation building. Each person can put in effort at his own level. The five things that I will do to build a great nation include following traffic rules, spreading awareness about government health policies, convincing workers to send their children to school, promoting cleanliness and helping tourists visiting my city. The work needs to be done at a lower level, to get results at the national level.
All these measures will help improve life in my city. Following traffic rules will reduce accidents, chaos and even pollution. Similarly, promoting cleanliness (by urging others in public places like parks to use dustbins) will add to the beauty of the city and reduce the spread of diseases. Sincerely guiding tourists, both online as well as face-to-face, if I meet them, will send a good message about my city. Increased tourism will bring in more funds and employment to the city.
Similarly, helping the poor know the health benefits that they are entitled to, will ensure free and timely treatment and save them from misery. Free medication and health camps will promote good health. The healthier the population, the more powerful the nation. Education is another tool to empower a nation. If members of the economically weaker sections of society, like our maids and gardeners can be made to understand how education can improve the lives of their children socially and economically, literacy levels will soar and social evils will eventually disappear.
Though these steps do not sound very dramatic, they are some ways in which each educated individual can do something for the nation. After all, a nation cannot be built by one individual, but through the collective effort of its citizens,at the individual, village or city level. Put together, it is the nation that will progress.
