Answer: The idea of being friends with God may seem vague to some as he is the divine power who is invisible to all yet visible to those who believe in him. Friendship with God is effortless and unconditional and lasts forever if you have faith.

Explanation: The Supreme Being, God, is our closest friend. Relationships with God and loving Him as our best friend are what constitute spiritual existence. We share a connection with God that lasts forever. He is the foundation of our existence and the relative we are closest to. No one can be more physically near to us than our Supreme Friend. However, as soon as we enter this material world, forgetting overtakes us. We lose sight of our spiritual roots when we are influenced by the material world, despite the fact that we are everlasting spiritual beings and integral parts of the Supreme Person. Layers of material energy that we mistake for our own self start to cover us. We start to believe that we are these garments, rather than understanding that we are the spiritual individual only donning the material clothes of the body and intellect. As we immerse ourselves more and more in the realm of substance, our innate spiritual propensities and endeavours are stifled. We forget what life was like before we came into the world of matter and we also don't recall what life was like before we came into the world of matter. We even neglect our relationship with God, who is our deepest friend and greatest love. Many of us have lost all awareness of God's existence due to the severity of our amnesia. And very few of us recall what He is like among those of us who at least remember His existence. It is quite challenging for us to develop a close relationship with Him when we are in such a forgetful state. We spend the majority of our time and energy fostering our connections with these people because we feel much closer to them than we do to our parents, partners, kids, classmates, or even our pets. Even though God is the closest Person to us, we do not prioritise this relationship in our life because we do not sense a profoundly intimate and loving personal connection with Him.  He is always and forever our best friend, but we forget this because of the effect of the material world on our mind. We mistakenly think of God as being frequently impersonal, hazy, and distant. The absence of a close, loving connection with the person who is actually our very best friend causes us to feel profoundly hurt within because we miss that person so much. There is an unquenchable void in our souls, a profound loneliness that cannot be satisfied by any person, circumstance, or item of this world. This emptiness won't go away until we can successfully restore our broken connection, despite our best efforts to temporarily mask it and divert our attention. Being friends with God is not some hazy or improbable concept; rather, it is the most genuine, close, and real connection we are capable of experiencing. God is a true individual. He has unique traits, preferences, a spiritual shape, interests, and so on. He is happiest when He can have an intimate, loving, and affectionate relationship with us, which is equivalent to the finest kind of friendship. And this is also how we connect with Him the happiest. We are genuinely able to know God as our highest Beloved by consistently, everyday, hearing and singing His Names, especially those Names that are explicitly used to communicate with Him affectionately, such as Gopala, Govinda, Rama, and Madana Mohana. In fact, we are able to bring our best friend, confidant back into our lives and hearts. You only understand the actual definition of friendship—which is based on the principles of faith, trust, and unconditional love—through relationship with God. We get to understand the value and purpose of our entire being because of our connection with Him. You may initially have a lot of expectations of Him, and perhaps you may even be disappointed by His replies since He does not think or behave the way we expect Him to.
