Kids get one when they show they can be responsible with it or the family has a need for their child to have one.
That means more cellphones are showing up in schools every year. In the United States, Tech Crunch reports that the average age for a child to receive their first phone is now 10 years of age. Child tablet ownership has risen from 26% to 55% since 2012.

A cellphone provides multiple layers of learning assistance for students today. It gives students access to a complete database of information about subject matters they are interested in while in school.

Cell phones have an abnormal ability to control teenagers and kids who are of school age. They do not worry about cell phones being dangerous. The misuse of cell phones causes a lot of issues, especially in schools. These issues can impact a student's education because cell phones can damage their learning and lead to fragmentation of their thinking. In some schools, using cell phones is forbidden, but students always have different ways to hide their cell phones and use them during school hours. Most teachers try to deal with the matter seriously and impose strict sanctions. Other teachers try to ignore the problem because they believe that there is no solution. Although some parents claim that it is necessary for students to have cell phones at school, there are plenty of reasons why they should not carry cell phones, such as disruptions to the learning process, cyber bullying and safety concerns.
